An engineer living in the Nordics set out to make a gentler snow shovel.

Nordic winters have a special kind of beauty. Snowflakes fall quietly, settling softly over red wooden houses. For Big Jun, an engineer who has lived in Sweden for many years, it is a familiar scene.
Yet behind that beautiful winter scenery lies a practical challenge that returns every year. After heavy snowfall, residents must clear snow from their driveways and yards. During the long winter, snow can become heavy, wet and sticky. Wet snow in particular clings to the shovel blade, making every clearing session physically demanding.
Big Jun tried one snow-removal tool after another. Some required constant bending and lifting, leaving his back aching; larger machines were expensive, heavy and complicated for ordinary households. Between labor-intensive hand tools and costly machinery, he saw a gap: a lightweight, durable, reasonably priced tool designed to deal with difficult wet snow without complicated maintenance. After years of clearing snow himself, a question took root: Could he build a snow shovel that truly understood everyday needs?

From the first model to the second generation
With an engineer’s determination, Big Jun began rethinking his first, conventional snow pusher. He tested it repeatedly in his snowy yard, sketched ideas, refined parts, changed the structure and tried again in winter conditions. By adding shallow side panels to the original shovel, he created the second-generation model. The change was not revolutionary, but it noticeably reduced the frustrating problem of snow escaping from the sides. Big Jun also obtained design protection for the product.

The third generation – fully enclosed side panels
But winter did not compromise. Heavy, sticky wet snow could still spill through gaps near the corners. When there was more snow, material he had just gathered would slip away, forcing him to repeat the work. The problem was not fully solved, and Big Jun did not stop.
After countless evenings reviewing drawings and learning from real-world snow clearing, he developed a third-generation shovel with fully enclosed side panels. The more complete enclosure addressed the persistent snow-leakage problem and significantly improved clearing efficiency. This design also received protection in China and the European Union.
The development continues
We do not believe one tool can solve every problem, or that any design is perfect on the first attempt.
It began with a heavy snowfall during a Swedish winter. Since then, we have continued to identify problems, redesign, test and improve.
For BlizKing, what matters is not creating a shovel that simply looks different, but making everyday snow clearing easier and more efficient.
And the development story continues.
